Geology Field Excursion

Understand geological history from the Bible via an interesting and fun field trip
with Dr Tas Walker from Creation Ministries International.
Come with us and get the geological facts on creation. You will understand the geological history of the Brisbane area and see how that relates to the Bible. Have fun learning with geologist Dr Tas Walker, from Creation Ministries International. Where will we meet? Creation Ministries International, Building 5-6, Technology Office Park, 107 Miles Platting Rd, Eight Mile Plains. (UBD 201 L19)
How will we travel? We will travel together on a coach.
What will we do? Learn how to interpret the rocks and see the evidence of Noah's Flood. Discover some of the key features to look for which can be applied all over the world. Enjoy some of the parks, gardens and scenery of the Brisbane area with stimulating company and great fellowship.
What do you need to know? Not much—just be keen to learn and enjoy. At the start of the tour we will explain what is going to happen, what we are going to do and what we are going to see. You will receive a printed guidebook. At the end of the tour we will go over what we saw and answer any questions.
What do you need to bring?
- A hat, sunscreen, insect repellant & umbrella if needed.
- Suitable clothing, including footwear for hiking.
- Notebook & pen/pencil.
- Camera (optional).
- Your own lunch & snacks, plus water to drink.
- A fold–up chair to sit on at lunchtime.
Will there be lots of hiking and climbing? Some, but not a lot. If you can walk for an hour in a shopping centre or walk up a few flights of stairs without stopping, you will be fit enough for the day.
Who can come? Anyone 9 years old and over, and keen to learn about God's world and how it relates to God's Word. Anyone under 16 years of age must be with a parent or guardian. Tour Cancellation Creation Ministries International reserves the right to cancel or postpone this event due to:
- Inclement weather on the day.
- If minimum numbers are not obtained.
Numbers required: minimum of 25 and a maximum of 51. Costs involved:
- $27.00 per person
- $70.00 for family of 3
- $85.00 for family of 4.
- $18.00 per extra person in family.
Full payment required when booking.
Bookings will be fully refundable less a 'one-off' administration fee of $10.00 per person or $27.00 per family, if you cancel your booking by the 10th of October 2008 (inclusive).
Bookings cancelled from the 11th–17th October 2008, will be refunded less an administration fee of $15.00 per person.
